London-based artist Balderdasch, originally from Cork, is carving out a unique niche with her experimental pop sound. Her upcoming debut EP promises a captivating blend of electric guitar, off-kilter samples, and intricate lyricism. Within these arrangements, Balderdasch explores themes of grief, queerness, and nightlife with a darkly humored slant.
On stage, she is supported by her two bandmates, whom she affectionately refers to as her "women in STEM." Her band performs on synths and laptops while dressed in secretarial shirts and beaded ties, with Balderdasch herself flitting between distorted guitar playing and striking hotel bells in her performance art-tinged sets.
