We are bringing down the one and only Lily Fontaine to DJ for you all on Friday the 4th of October. Lily is a talented multi-media creative in her own right, who has risen to success with her groundbreaking Leeds based indie band ‘English Teacher’. Our programming team cites English Teachers’ last trip to the capital as the best gig of the year so far when they played to a sold-out Brixton Electric. But it’s not just the Fox team who have been taking notice… English Teacher just won the 2024 Mercury prize for the best album of the year with their debut album ‘This Could be Texas’.

Now, fresh off the back of what many consider to be the most prestigious award In British and Irish music.  Lily is venturing down to the big smoke once again as the guest DJ at October’s ‘On the Rocks’. Undisputedly one of the leading women in the British indie scene, we cannot wait to hear what tunes she’ll be pulling out. A true tastemaker of alternative music, expect an eclectic mix of genre spanning tracks.

Make sure to get down early to see the two live bands playing on the night, Kudre and Hove. Both bands are bursting onto the London scene with some serious energy, playing packed out gigs across the capital. Kudre is a three-piece alt-rock band from South-East London. Inspired by a myriad of artists, their music explores honest, dark themes of life. Their sound has been described as raw, intense and visceral. They’re joined by Hove; newcomers on the scene who put an interesting nostalgic spin on the classic tropes of 90’s grunge rock.
